Adelie Penguin - Pygoscdlis adeliae
Sightings:
Weddell Sea, Antarctica, 29 & 30. 11.2014, numerous birds.
Antarctic Peninsula, November/December 2016.
Notes:
A small penguin which lives in southern areas with a distinctive white eye-ring and distinctive head shape. They build a nest of pebbles. Often seen in small groups on icebergs.
Catching a group porpoising is wonderful to watch, but difficult to photograph!
