Peruvian Pelican - Sula variegata 


Sightings:

Seen at Puerto Montt and Chiloe Island, Chile, December 2016.

Notes:

The birds at Puerto Montt were near a large food and artisan market, probably taking advantage of handouts!



They are slightly smaller than Australian Pelicans apparently, but not by much.

    A great bird! Is it brown feathers? On TV is displayed only the white feathers of a pelican.

      It does have brown feathers. There is a Brown Pelican (different species) in America too.
