Red-browed Finch

Red-browed Finch - Neochmia temporalis

Sightings:

Pound Bend section Warrandyte State Park:  2016:  November.
Wilson Reserve, Ivanhoe:  2016:  November.  2017:  January.
Templestowe:  2016:  November.

Notes:

The red brow really stands out, as does the red rump as they fly away.   They are seed eaters, with these two appearing to be feeding on what we used to call "water grass" as children - fine, soft seeds.  Often in small flocks.  Their call is distinctive.
