Dolphin Gull - Larus scoresbii


Sightings:

Ushuaia, Argentina, 23, 24 and 25 11.2014, several birds.
Beagle Channel islands, 5.12.2016, several birds.
Puerto Natales, December 2016, small group of immature birds.


Notes:

The bird above is an adult in breeding plumage with it's distinctive light grey head and neck and bright red bill and legs.



 The bird above is a young bird, still with the black tip to it's bill and with a dark head.






The bird above is still young but closer to adult non-breeding plumage.  It retains the dark tip to the bill which an adult wouldn't have.

It's a medium-sized gull.
