Brown Skua - Catharacta antarcticus
Sightings:
Macquarie Island: 2011: November.
Notes:
Seen watching the Royal Penguin colony, apparently after eggs as broken ones were seen.
They have a fairly large white area visible at the base of the primary wing feathers which can be seen in the image above.
Some birds have more paler markings on their feathers than others.
They have a strong bill.
