A blog for sharing my getting to know birds as I learn from my meetings with them! These will mostly be Australian, but will include overseas birds that I meet when I travel.

Spotted Towhee - Pipilo maculatus
Sightings:
Near Seattle, 13.9.2014, 1 bird. Notes:
Seen at the home of an American birder foraging at the base of a big old ?birch. Plumage colours matched in well with a rotting section!
An attractive bird, slightly smaller than a Common Blackbird.
