Trumpeter Swan

Trumpeter Swan - Cygnus buccinator

Sightings:

Yellowstone National Park, U.S.A., 14.2.2014, 4 birds, 2 adults and 2 well grown young birds.

Notes:

The bill of Trumpeter Swans forms a V with the white feathers of the forehead, while that of the Tundra Swan is more straight across.

Even with the cygnets this large, one parent was ready to defend them once aware of us watching from the bank of snow!
