Spinifex Pigeon - Geophaps plumifera 


Sightings:

Ormiston Gorge, 12.7.2016, several birds.
Pentecost River crossing of Gibb River road, W.A., 1.8.2016, around 20 birds sheltering from the midday sun amongst the small boulders in the river bed.   They toned in so well that they were difficult to see.

Notes:

Found in the gorges around Alice Springs and in suitable habitat further north.   A subspecies is found in the Pilbara, W.A.
