Magellanic Cormorant

Magellanic Cormorant - Phalacrocorax magellanicus

Sightings:

Island in Beagle Channel, Argentina, 5.12.2014, breeding colony of at least 50 - 100 birds, and probably more.

Notes:

Orange-red facial skin really stood out.   Mutual preening seen.

Chick seemed to be without feathers, or down.

It was a warm sunny day and many of the birds sitting on nests had their bills open to cool down.
