The blog will just give birds added on a particular day with a page for each bird included so please look at the pages as they will have more photos and text that a post!

Update 5.1.2017
It hot and almost still at 4 p.m. and I haven't been for a walk today due to commitments - maybe this evening!
I've just added Austral Blackbird from southern Chile to the overseas pages.
Interesting species which until now I had never even heard of!
ReplyDeleteIt's related to the North American Blackbirds I think based on the bill!
ReplyDeleteHello, it is a handsome blackbird. Great shot. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eileen. Your Blackbirds are rather different to the European ones that were introduced to Australia.
DeleteIt is indeed a member of the New World Blackbirds. An excellent reference for this family is "New World Blackbirds" by Alvaro Jaramillo.
ReplyDeleteThanks, David. It's interesting to note the author of the reference you've given as he's the author of my Chilean field guide.
Deletehow cool birds you've seen! Greetings
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne. It's a great hobby as I can combine it with travel and photography!
